Katy Perry performs at Glasgow Green

Katy Perry Closes Radio 1’s Big Weekend

Katy Perry proved why she is at the top of her game, while pulling some animated faces, as she performed on Sunday night.

Closing the Main Stage of the two-day festival in Glasgow, Katy took to the stage in a whirlwind of facial expressions and raised fists.

In typical Katy Perry fashion she stepped out into the limelight in a costume that incorporated elements from all over the world, with lots of glitter on top.

Her two-piece mashed tribal trends with futuristic shining panels and a hem-line resembling that of Roman soldiers.

Her dancers dressed like both samurai warriors and Inca Indians.

Metallic croptops appears to have been all the rage at this year’s Big Weekend as Lily Allen was spotted also wearing a golden corset for her appearance on Saturday.

Katy Perry rocks on her Prismatic World Tour in Belfast

The singer started her Prismatic World Tour at the Northern Irish capital’s Odyssey Arena, Wednesday night, where she showcased an array of colourful costumes as she performed her greatest hits.

There was an Egyptian theme as she changed from a Cleopatra-like empress on horseback, to a pink feline in a jumpsuit.

Her wardrobe has a number of designer names including Valentino and Roberto Cavalli, as well as Jeremy Scott for Moschino.

Katy appeared on the catwalk for Jeremy Scott’s first outing as creative director for the Italian brand at Milan Fashion Week.

Before the show, Katy unveiled the complete set list, as well as the themes for each section, which were: Prismatic, Egyptian, Cat-oure, and Acoustic, Throw back, Hyper Neon and an encore.

Along with the picture, Perry wrote: ‘Don’t be late to #ThePrismaticWorldTour’.

The singer opened the show with, ‘Roar’, followed by ‘Part of Me’ and ‘Wide Awake’.

That was lots of her Prism album, featured in the set lit, with  tracks ‘Legendary Lovers’, ‘By the Grace of God’ and ‘Walking on Air’  all getting an outing on the Irish stage.

Katy was clearly excited to kick off the show as she began her first world tour since she ended her The California Dream Tour in January 2012.

She immediately posted on Twitter once she left the stage.

She wrote: ‘Um…It feels like we never left! Tonight was INSANE in all the best ways. I have a feeling the light hit  everyone!#ThePrismaticWorldTour’.

Katy’s classic hits ‘I Kissed a Girl’, ‘Firework’ and ‘California Gurls’ were also performed plus a mashup of ‘This Is How We Do’ and ‘Last Friday Night (TGIF)’.

Naturally some critics have tried to claim that Katy may have taken inspiration from Lady Gaga during her eccentric outfits.

This first leg of the world tour has Katy perform a at 17 UK dates, including four headline shows at London’s O2 Arena from May 27 to 31.

Katy Perry and DJ Diplo

Katy Perry IS dating DJ Diplo?

Looks like Katy has moved on and into the fire, who just can’t quit falling for bad boys.

Just two months after splitting with John “goes-through-women-like-hot-dinners” Mayer, singer Katy, 29 has been out on her first proper date with superstar DJ and producer Diplo – real name Thomas Wesley Pentz.

The pair were rumoured to have hooked up at Coachella Festival a few weekends back, but they made it official as they stepped out for dinner this weekend at the Marlton Hotel in New York.

They headed straight to a party at Skylight club, then an after-after-party at the Up & Down nightspot before leaving in the same car at 2am.

A source said: “Diplo and Katy were super affectionate.”

“It’s a really fun relationship for them both, easy and casual.” However, Katy’s friends are worried that ladies’ man Diplo, 35, may not be the best guy for her so soon after her breakup from John, 36.

A source close said: “Diplo always has girls throwing themselves at him, and it’s fair to say he has his fun partying with them.

“But he’s also got a three-year-old son with his on-off girlfriend that he doesn’t see that often.”

“He also had a public fallout with his other ex, MIA, who he dated for five years, so Katy’s friends are worried she could end up getting hurt – again – by a guy who’s seen as a bit of a lothario.”

Diplo previously said: “I don’t want to have to be responsible for two other people. I can’t even be responsible for myself.”

Hmm, from Russell Brand, to John Mayer to Diplo – it’s almost as if Katy likes to make it hard for herself. In fact, she confessed last year: “I do have to figure out why I am attracted to these broken birds.”

Sounds like she’s still got some figuring out to do…
